Summary

Strategically positioned on Gorordo Avenue, Harolds Evotel bridges the uptown Capitol area and the IT Park business district. Overview

Standard rooms start at 29–32 sqm — much more breathing room than typical business hotels. Stable 25–40 Mbps fiber for remote work, 100% power redundancy, and one of Cebu’s best urban vistas from the Highlights Rooftop.

Two Rebrands in Five Years

The property opened as Harolds Hotel in February 2011, one of several independent Cebuano-owned hotels that built a following on Gorordo Avenue before the international chains moved in. It rebranded to Harolds Evotel in 2020, a repositioning meant to signal a more contemporary, design-forward identity while keeping the same ownership and staff base — and, by several accounts, has since begun trading under the Harolds Hotel name again as its most recent iteration. Guests researching the property across different booking platforms may still encounter both names attached to what is functionally the same address, staff, and room inventory; it is worth confirming which name a given listing uses before assuming you have found two different hotels rather than one that has changed its signage twice in under fifteen years.

Location

  • District: Lahug / Camputhaw, central Cebu City
  • Landmarks: UP Cebu (3 min walk, directly across); Ayala Center Cebu (10–15 min walk / 5 min drive); Cebu IT Park (5–8 min drive)
  • Walkability: Strong via Gorordo

Gorordo Avenue itself has shifted from a largely residential street into one of Cebu City’s busiest commercial corridors as IT Park’s workforce and the university crowd from UP Cebu created steady daytime and evening foot traffic. That transition is the same economic pattern playing out across several of the city’s older residential streets — Escario, Mango Avenue — as commercial rents outbid residential use once a nearby anchor (a mall, a business park, a university) reaches critical mass.
