Our Lady of Lourdes Punta Princesa serves the Punta Princesa barangay in southern Cebu City as a parish and a designated stop for the 2025 Jubilee Year, when the Catholic Church observed its global “Pilgrims of Hope” theme and local dioceses named select churches as pilgrimage sites offering plenary indulgences under the standard conditions of confession, communion and prayer. The dedication follows the Marian apparition tradition of Lourdes, France, where Bernadette Soubirous reported visions of the Virgin Mary in 1858 — a devotion repeated in parish namesakes across the Catholic world, Cebu included. For residents of Punta Princesa, the church functions as an ordinary neighborhood parish the rest of the year, with the Jubilee designation adding a seasonal layer of pilgrim traffic rather than changing its day-to-day role in the community.
