Cebu IT Park, formerly known as Asiatown IT Park, is a 27-hectare business park in Cebu City, Philippines, developed by Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation — a subsidiary of Cebu.

Cebu IT Park — older residents still call it Asiatown IT Park — is a 27-hectare business district in the Lahug uptown area, built by Cebu Property Ventures and Development Corporation, an Ayala Land subsidiary, to house IT and BPO locators. It sits on what used to be Lahug Airport: the runway opened in 1938, went quiet in 1966 once Cebu’s air traffic moved to Mactan, and the site finally closed for good in 1989 after Cebu Property Ventures acquired it. The Philippine Economic Zone Authority cleared the area in April 2000, and Presidential Proclamation No. 12 made it an Information Technology Special Economic Zone the following February; construction on the first office blocks began later that year.

By day it’s still a dense office district, but after hours Cebu IT Park has become one of uptown Cebu City’s main dining and nightlife draws. The center of that is Garden Bloc, a 3-hectare open-air development of restaurants and bars anchored by the night market Sugbo Mercado. On Sunday mornings, a Car-Free Sundays initiative closes designated streets from 5:00 to 10:00 a.m. for walking and jogging. A few earlier venues here — The Pyramid, The Park Social — have since closed, so check current listings before planning a night around them.

The retail anchor is Ayala Malls Central Bloc, which opened in 2019 as Cebu’s second Ayala mall and the park’s first major retail development. A Seda Hotel and two office towers sit alongside it, forming the mixed-use center of the district.

The site carries one more layer of history: on February 19, 1981, Pope John Paul II held an open-air Mass on the old Lahug Airport runway that the IT park now occupies. For a visitor today, though, the draw is food, malls, and walkable streets rather than sightseeing in the conventional sense.
