What it delivers instead is a well-executed theme garden: a row of vermilion torii gates, bamboo groves, koi ponds, and a large seated Buddha statue, laid out with enough care in the landscaping that the photos hold up.

The elevation gives it a cooler microclimate than the city below, which is part of the draw on a hot afternoon.
