Good Shepherd Road Viewpoint

Good Shepherd Road climbs into the hills above Cebu City, and the pull-outs along the ridge open onto a wide view over the metro and the strait beyond — one of the more accessible lookout points in the uplands, reachable by car or habal-habal without a hike. The barangays lining this ridge still farm small vegetable plots between the rooftops, part of the produce that supplies city markets, though subdivisions have been closing in on that land for years.

• Best light runs from late afternoon into dusk, when the city grid below starts switching on and the ridge line silhouettes against the sky.
• The road has no real shoulder, so parking is informal — pull as far off the pavement as the ridge allows and mind oncoming traffic on the bends.
• Cebu City’s uplands have seen fast residential development in recent years; the view changes as new subdivisions fill in what used to be open hillside.
