Overview
Most luxurious room finishes currently available in Cebu. Tech-forward: enterprise-grade fiber throughout, industrial power backup (casino operation requirement), and seamless connectivity across the resort. The Strip retail wing hosts Louis Vuitton, Dior, and other premium brands. Fili is Robinsons Hotels & Resorts’ first homegrown five-star brand, launched with the wider NUSTAR Resort in 2022 as the group’s answer to the international luxury chains that had, until then, defined the top end of Cebu’s hotel market.
A Filipino-Owned Answer to Global Luxury Brands
Robinsons Land Corporation built NUSTAR — and Fili within it — as a deliberate bet that a homegrown operator could compete at the ultra-luxury tier long dominated in the Philippines by international groups. The company has continued investing behind that bet: a second, even higher-tier NUSTAR-branded hotel opened on the same integrated resort site in 2025, positioning Fili as the accessible-luxury half of a two-hotel portfolio rather than a one-off flagship. That expansion mirrors a broader pattern in Philippine tourism — large domestic conglomerates increasingly building and operating their own five-star product instead of licensing an international brand, keeping more of the margin and the brand equity onshore.
Location
- District: Kawit Island, SRP, southern Cebu City
- Landmarks: CCLEX (1 min drive); SM Seaside City (3–5 min); Cebu Ocean Park (5 min); Cebu IT Park/Ayala (20–30 min via SRP Coastal Road)
- Walkability: Low — island destination, transport required for street-side Cebu
The CCLEX bridge that makes Fili’s airport run the fastest in the city is itself recent infrastructure: the 8.9-kilometer Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway, the country’s longest bridge and its first expressway and toll road built outside Luzon, opened to traffic in April 2022 — the same year NUSTAR and Fili opened. The two projects reinforced each other; SRP’s waterfront land only became a viable luxury-hospitality site once the bridge cut the drive to Mactan-Cebu International Airport to a predictable 20–25 minutes instead of routing through the city’s older, more congested bridges.
