Bonbon Falls

Guide to Bonbon Falls in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: waterfallEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

Bonbon Falls sits in Cebu’s central highlands, the mountain spine that runs down the island’s interior and functions as its main watershed — the creeks up here eventually feed the rivers and reservoirs that supply Cebu City below. The falls itself is a cold-water cascade reached by forest trail, without the infrastructure or foot traffic of the province’s more developed waterfall sites.

The surrounding barangays are farming communities working corn and vegetable plots on the slopes, and the trail down cuts through active farmland before it reaches tree cover.

  • The trail is a genuine hike, not a paved walk — sturdy shoes and reasonable fitness help.
  • Bring a picnic; the basin has no vendors or facilities, just the pool and the forest around it.
  • Check conditions before heading out — the trail gets difficult to navigate after heavy rain.
