Tinubdan Falls Catmon

Guide to Tinubdan Falls Catmon in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: waterfallEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

Tinubdan Falls sits in the forest above Catmon, a farming town on Cebu’s east coast where corn and coconut remain the backbone of the local economy outside the falls itself. The water drops in stages rather than a single sheet, cutting a series of pools down the rock face — each tier holds its own small basin, so the swim changes character as you move from one level to the next. The surrounding forest is regrowth rather than old growth, typical of Cebu’s uplands after decades of logging and the reforestation push that followed, and the trail through it can turn slick after rain.

  • Each tier of the falls holds a separate pool, so it’s worth working through more than just the bottom level.
  • The trail can get slippery after rain; sturdy, closed footwear beats sandals here.
  • Weekdays see a fraction of the weekend crowd, if quiet is the priority.
