San Remigio holds the longest municipal coastline in Cebu province, and the beach reflects that scale — long stretches of fine sand rather than a single contained cove, running along the northern mainland coast. The barangays behind the shoreline still run mostly on fishing, the way most of this stretch of northern Cebu does, which shows up in the small boats pulled up along the sand and the fish-drying racks near the road rather than in any built-up resort strip. It stays low-key compared to the more developed stretches of the island, closer to how much of Cebu’s coastline looked before beach tourism concentrated around Mactan and Bantayan.
- Local fishermen rent out small boats for trips to nearby coves and quieter swimming spots.
- Sunsets here are a genuine draw — get to the beach by late afternoon if that is the point of the visit.
- San Remigio is reachable by regular bus from Cebu City, making it one of the more budget-friendly beach options on the mainland.
