Ka-Tinggo Falls

Guide to Ka-Tinggo Falls in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: waterfallEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

Ka-Tinggo Falls sits in the interior hills of Catmon, on the limestone terrain that runs through much of Cebu’s mid-island spine — the same karst geology that feeds most of the province’s waterfalls and cave systems rather than a single continuous river network. The trail in cuts through farmland and second-growth forest before opening onto the falls and the pool it’s carved into the rock below. As with most of these smaller falls outside the well-trafficked south, access and upkeep are usually managed informally by the barangay or the landowning family rather than a formal park authority.

  • The trail passes through working farmland, so keep to the marked path and be mindful of crops.
  • The pool is cold and deep enough for a proper swim — bring a change of clothes for the ride back.
  • Weekdays are quieter than weekends, when local groups tend to book the site for outings.
