Liboo Hill

Guide to Liboo Hill in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: sightEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

Liboo Hill rises out of Alegria’s interior, part of the limestone highland spine that runs down Cebu’s southwestern half — the same uplifted coral geology that shapes Osmeña Peak and the ridge trails further north. The climb is a working farm landscape as much as a viewpoint: corn and root-crop plots cut into the slope by hand rather than machine, the kind of upland farming that has defined this part of south Cebu for generations.

The summit view is the reason to come — open sightlines across the valley and, on a clear morning, out toward the coast. Trail conditions are informal; there’s no fee collection or marked-path infrastructure yet, which keeps traffic light but also means bringing your own water and telling someone your route.

  • Start before 6am for the best chance at low-hanging morning mist over the valley.
  • Wear trail shoes — the path crosses farmland, not a maintained tourist trail.
  • Pack out anything you bring in; there’s no waste collection this far into the hills.
