Alegria Heritage Park is a small, low-key green space in the town center — gardens and older structures that give the town a quieter counterpoint to the canyoneering and waterfall circuit it’s better known for today. Like much of this stretch of southern Cebu, the local economy has shifted over the past couple of decades from farming and fishing toward the adventure-tourism traffic passing through en route to Kawasan and Badian. It’s a short stop, not a destination in itself.
- The surrounding structures carry the Spanish-colonial plaza layout common to older southern Cebu town centers — church, plaza, and municipal buildings clustered together.
- Shaded pathways make it a reasonable break from the midday heat between canyon or falls trips.
- Local festivals bring more activity to the park than an ordinary weekday does — worth timing a visit around one if the schedule lines up.
