Alegria Canyoneering Area

The Alegria Canyoneering Area sits within the limestone karst belt that runs along southern Cebu’s coast from Badian through Alegria to Samboan — the same geology responsible for the region’s tiered waterfalls and the emerald-green pools this site is known for. Getting through the canyon means climbing, jumping, and swimming past cliffs draped in tropical foliage, not walking a marked trail.

• Cliff jumps drop into pools carved by water erosion over a long span of years, deep enough for the jump heights offered here.
• The canyon walls run thick with vegetation typical of this limestone terrain — worth slowing down for between jumps.
• As with most canyoneering sites along this stretch of coast, guiding is organized locally: hire a certified guide, both for the technical sections and because guide fees fund trail upkeep in the barangay.
