Copton Point is a wall dive off Moalboal’s coast, part of the reef system that turned this former fishing town into one of Cebu’s dive-tourism centers over the past few decades — visible in how much of the Panagsama strip now runs on dive shops and boat crews rather than fishing alone. The site drops sharply from the shallows into a coral-covered wall, with sea turtles, reef fish and, seasonally, large sardine schools moving through. Copton Point sits within one of Moalboal’s locally managed marine protected areas, part of the fee structure that funds patrol boats and reef monitoring along the Tañon Strait, one of the Philippines’ larger protected seascapes.

  • Marine life: sea turtles, reef fish, and — in season — the sardine schools the area is known for.
  • Wall dive: a sharp drop-off with dense hard and soft coral cover.
  • Visibility: consistently clear, good for photography, though conditions shift with season and weather.
