Santa Fe MJ Square sits at the center of Bantayan Island’s main port town, the strip where the afternoon ferry crowd from Hagnaya and the day’s beach traffic both end up by evening. Food stalls and small carinderias ring the square, most of them working the same catch that comes off Santa Fe’s boats — grilled seafood and, in season, the dried danggit that Bantayan ships to the rest of Cebu. It is also the practical staging point for the island: boatmen and tour operators who run trips out to Virgin Island and the nearby sandbars work out of stalls here, so it doubles as a booking counter as much as a dining spot.

  • Food stalls and small restaurants here run from grilled seafood to more general Filipino fare, priced for the local crowd as much as visitors.
  • It is the most reliable place to book a boat to Virgin Island directly with an operator rather than through a resort desk.
  • Evenings bring the square to life — vendors, live music some nights, and the slower pace that follows a day of beach-hopping.
