Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción sits in the center of Oslob, built in the coral-stone technique common to Cebu’s Spanish-era churches — blocks of reef limestone quarried locally, soft enough to cut when freshly pulled from the water and hardening with exposure to air. The weathered facade and thick masonry walls follow that construction method rather than anything unique to this church, but they’re well preserved here.
