Lusno Falls sits inland from Cebu’s southwest coast, reached by a trail through farmland and second-growth forest before the water comes into earshot. It’s not signposted the way Kawasan or Aguinid are, which keeps the crowd down to whoever asked around in the nearest barangay for directions.
- The trail is a moderate walk rather than a hike, but it turns to mud fast after rain — bring shoes with real grip, not sandals.
- Pack in your own food and water; there are no stalls or cottages at the falls, and the ‘leave no trace’ rule matters more here than at the developed waterfalls nearby.
- Check conditions with locals before setting out after heavy rain — flash flooding on southwest Cebu’s smaller rivers is a real risk, not a formality.
Southwest Cebu’s river system feeds a string of falls — Kawasan being the famous one — that the region’s canyoneering trade has built up around since the early 2010s. Lusno sits outside that circuit, which is most of its appeal and also why it has none of the infrastructure.

South Cebu is the island's adventure-and-heritage coast — the Oslob whale sharks, the Kawasan canyoneering, the Moalboal sardine run, and the Spanish-colonial towns along the southern road.
