Gaas Balamban Highlands

Gaas, in the highlands above Balamban, runs noticeably cooler than the Cebu lowlands — enough of a break from the heat that locals call it Cebu’s Little Baguio. The elevation brings pine cover and afternoon mist, and a small tourism economy has grown around that climate: flower farms, mountain cafes and a handful of adventure parks with ziplines and sky bikes. The cafes lean into the cool weather with sikwate — Visayan-style hot tsokolate — and other snacks better suited to a highland chill than the usual beachside menu.
