Every other Cebu–Bohol crossing starts with a trip into Cebu City. This one does not, and that is the entire reason it exists.

Cordova RoRo Port sits at Sitio Camolinas on the southern tip of Mactan Island — the same island as Mactan-Cebu International Airport, roughly twenty minutes away by road. If you have just landed and Bohol is your destination, this pier lets you skip the bridge, the city, and the port complex entirely. Sunriser Cordova Inter-Island Shipping then covers the strait to Getafe in about 1 hour 20 minutes, carrying vehicles as well as foot passengers.

It is not quite the fastest crossing on the water — OceanJet’s Cebu-to-Getafe fast craft edges it at 1 h 15 m — but that comparison is beside the point. Measured airport door to Bohol soil, nothing else comes close, because every rival crossing spends forty minutes of your afternoon getting to a pier in the city.

Be aware of a gap between sources here. The operator’s published board carries up to five Cordova departures — 06:00, 07:00, 08:00, 10:00 and 14:00 — while 12Go was selling two of them (06:00 and 10:00) in August 2026. Both are true: not every sailing is distributed online. If the time you want is not on 12Go, it may still exist at the pier.

Cordova → Getafe

The 06:00 arrives at 07:20; the 10:00 arrives at 11:20. Economy on 12Go sells at around US$7, the cheapest ticket on any crossing into Getafe, with washroom facilities aboard and an Upper Deck option a little above it.

Getting to the pier from the airport is the part to plan. Cordova is reached by van or taxi in roughly 20 to 30 minutes from the terminals — there is no scheduled shuttle. The Cebu–Cordova Link Expressway lands in Cordova at the neighbouring barangays of Pilipog and Ibabao, so “near the CCLEX landing” is a fair way to direct a driver, though it is not literally the port’s own barangay. Locals may also know the general wharf area as Parola, after the lighthouse on the older public pier.

If you are bringing a vehicle, arrive an hour early. Vehicles board first, and the queue is the schedule.

Getafe → Cordova

Northbound, Sunriser’s Getafe departures have run at 08:00, 11:30, 12:00 and 16:00. This direction is the one that rewards planning, because Getafe is not a place you can improvise transport out of: tricycles and habal-habal serve the port, and anything longer than a short hop needs a van arranged beforehand. There is no Grab in Bohol province.

The reason to take this direction is symmetrical with the outbound one. Landing at Cordova puts you on Mactan, which is where the airport and a good deal of Cebu’s resort accommodation already are. If your onward flight is out of MCIA, this crossing saves you the port-to-airport transit that every Cebu City arrival has to absorb.

Weather is the honest caveat in both directions. Getafe is an exposed pier, and afternoon cancellations during the June-to-November habagat are more likely here than at the enclosed terminals to the south. Take a morning sailing in that window.

The ports

  • Cordova RoRo Port — the Mactan terminus, at Sitio Camolinas in Cordova poblacion. A working RoRo and pump-boat wharf that also handles local island traffic, not a passenger terminal in the airport sense.
  • Port of Getafe — the Bohol terminus. Note the short disembarkation ramp, which does not reach gangway height at most tides.

Operators on this crossing

Sunriser Cordova Inter-Island Shipping is the only operator on this port pair, and the pairing is exclusive in both directions — no other carrier links Mactan directly to Bohol. It runs both a fast Economy service and a slower Standard RoRo run, rates well with 12Go users, and accepts vehicles.

That sole-operator status is the structural risk on this crossing. There is no second carrier to fall back on if a sailing is cancelled or full. If your trip depends on a same-day connection, have the Cebu City crossings — Getafe or Tagbilaran — as your alternative rather than assuming a later Sunriser departure will exist.

How to book

  1. Confirm you actually benefit from Mactan. If you are staying in Cebu City rather than near the airport, the Cebu Pier crossings will be quicker overall.
  2. Search “Cordova to Getafe Bohol” on 12Go — plain “Getafe” is a different place with no ferries.
  3. Book vehicle space separately and ahead if you are bringing a car or motorcycle.
  4. Allow 20 to 30 minutes from the airport to the pier, and arrive an hour early with a vehicle.
  5. Take a morning sailing in the habagat months, and have a Cebu City crossing as your fallback.

Frequently asked questions

How far is Cordova RoRo Port from Mactan airport?

Roughly 20 to 30 minutes by van or taxi — both are on Mactan Island. There is no scheduled shuttle, so arrange the ride.

Is this the fastest way from Cebu to Bohol?

Measured pier to pier, no — OceanJet’s Cebu–Getafe run is marginally quicker at 1 h 15 m. Measured from the airport, this is the fastest route by a wide margin, because it skips the trip into the city.

Can I bring a car?

Yes. This is a RoRo crossing and vehicles are carried. Book the vehicle slot ahead during peak periods and arrive an hour before departure — vehicles load first.

How much is the Cordova–Getafe ferry?

Economy has sold at around ₱620, roughly US$7, which is the cheapest fare into Getafe from anywhere. Confirm the live rate for your date.

Why does 12Go show fewer sailings than the operator’s schedule?

Not every departure is distributed through online agents. The operator’s board has carried up to five Cordova departures; 12Go was selling two of them in August 2026. Sailings missing online may still run.

What happens if the sailing is cancelled?

Sunriser is the only operator on this pair, so there is no alternative carrier here. Fall back on the Cebu City crossings to Getafe or Tagbilaran rather than waiting for the next Cordova departure.
