Virgin Island — locally called Silion — is a sandbar off Bantayan Island reachable only by boat, typically chartered from Santa Fe as part of a half-day island-hopping trip. Its main feature is what it lacks: no permanent structures, no resort, just a shifting strip of white sand ringed by shallow, clear water good for snorkeling straight off the beach. Its shape moves with the season and prevailing currents, so the postcard shot depends a little on timing. Bantayan itself is reached from the mainland via the Hagnaya-to-Santa Fe ferry crossing, roughly three hours from Cebu City by road and boat combined.
- Crystal Clear Waters: Snorkel straight off the sandbar — visibility is some of the clearest around Bantayan, no separate boat ride needed.
- Picnic Perfection: Bring your own food and water; the native-style cottages provide shade, not supplies.
- Photo Opportunities: Shoot early or late in the day, when the light is low and the crowds haven’t arrived — midday sun flattens the color and shade is scarce.
