The Labyrinth Toledo

Guide to The Labyrinth Toledo in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: sightEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

The Labyrinth is a hedge maze on the outskirts of Toledo City, on Cebu’s west coast — a city better known for the Atlas copper mine, one of the largest in Southeast Asia at its peak, and for the ferry crossing to San Carlos City on Negros, than for garden attractions. The maze itself is a straightforward layout: trimmed hedges, gravel paths, and a center point to find, more a half-hour diversion than a destination to build a day around.

It works best as a stop between Toledo and the west-coast route down toward Moalboal, somewhere to stretch a car ride rather than a planned endpoint. Paths are unshaded for most of the walk, so plan around midday heat.

  • Find your way to the center, then back out — a straightforward challenge for kids and adults alike.
  • Hedges and landscaped beds give a change of scenery from the coastal drive.
  • Wear real shoes and bring water or a hat — most of the maze sits in open sun.
