Sugar Beach

Guide to Sugar Beach in Cebu, Philippines.

Sugar Beach sits on the Santa Fe side of Bantayan Island, the town that also holds the island’s main ferry terminal and, as a result, its densest run of beach resorts. The sand carries the same fine, pale character as the rest of Bantayan’s coralline shoreline — a product of the island’s limestone base rather than any particular polish — and the water stays shallow and calm close to shore.

  • Being minutes from the ferry pier makes this stretch the most convenient Bantayan beach for a short trip from Cebu.
  • Resort density here is the highest on the island, so expect more built-up shoreline than the quieter stretches near Bantayan town.
  • Sunset faces the open sea, making the beach bars along here a reliable spot for it.
