Lapus Lapus Cliff

Lapus Lapus Cliff sits along Cebu’s northern coastline near Malapascua, where the limestone shoreline breaks into sheer drops instead of beach. The payoff is the view: open water, the jagged edge of the cliff line, and on a clear day the outline of Malapascua itself offshore. The wider stretch of coast here has shifted hard toward dive tourism in recent years, anchored by Malapascua’s reputation as one of the few places in the world with regular thresher shark sightings at Monad Shoal — cliff-top viewpoints like this one are largely a byproduct of that traffic passing through.

• The short trail to the cliff edge involves some light scrambling over exposed rock — wear shoes with grip, not sandals.
• Cliff jumping happens here, but check with locals on current conditions before you commit; depth and safety at the base shift with tide and swell.
• Bring water. There’s no shade once you’re out on the exposed limestone.
