The Doña Marilyn was a passenger ferry running the Manila-to-Cebu route when a typhoon sank her in October 1988; the wreck has sat off Malapascua since, a nearly 100-meter hull now among the better-known technical dive sites in the Visayas. She rests on her starboard side, with the shallowest point of the structure around 17 meters and the seabed closer to 33 — depth enough to put most of the interior swim-throughs solidly in advanced-diver territory.
- Whitetip reef sharks and blue-spotted stingrays are regular sightings on the sand near the hull.
- The depth and current at the site call for advanced open-water certification at minimum; several local operators require a wreck specialty before booking the dive.
- Book through an established Malapascua dive shop — the crossing runs roughly ninety minutes each way, and shops schedule around current windows for a safer descent.
