Cebu Safari and Adventure Park is a 170-hectare wildlife park in Carmen, founded by Michel J. Lhuillier and Eduard J. Loop, with more than a thousand animals across roughly 120 species — the largest zoological park in the Philippines by area.

Overview

Set in Barangay Corte, Carmen, the park is organized into zones: the African Savanna, Michelle’s Garden, Gardens of the World, and the White Lion Safari, plus a 1.3-kilometer zipline running 671 meters above sea level.

Adult admission, and children 91 centimetres and above, runs ₱900 on weekdays and ₱1,100 on weekends and holidays. Children between 61 and 91 centimetres pay ₱450 on weekdays and ₱550 on weekends and holidays; children under 61 centimetres enter free.

The park is open daily, including holidays, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Development history

Photos of the park under construction surfaced on social media in early 2017 from visitors given exclusive tours, some incorrectly claiming an April 2017 opening. Lhuillier, the owner, corrected this at a press conference, targeting October or November 2017 instead — a date the project also missed; it eventually soft-opened in February 2018.

Lhuillier conceived the park after a visit to the San Diego Zoo in California and began collecting exotic animals and plants for the site afterward. It sits on part of the 2,000-hectare property held by the Lhuillier family, who also own the M. Lhuillier Group of Companies, parent of Michel J. Lhuillier Financial Services (Pawnshops), Inc.
