Bagatayam Falls

Guide to Bagatayam Falls in Cebu, Philippines.

Type: waterfallEntrance fee: FreeHours: Open dailyBest time: Morning or Late Afternoon

Bagatayam Falls sits inland from Sogod’s coast road, a multi-tiered cascade over limestone shelves — typical of the terrain across Cebu’s northern interior, where karst rock breaks rivers into stepped drops rather than single plunges. The pools at the base run clear and cold, fed by mountain springs rather than surface runoff.

  • Swim in the cool spring-fed pools at the base of the falls, distinctly colder than the sea a short drive away.
  • The rock is mossy and textured close to the falls — good for photos, worth watching your footing.
  • Weekdays are quieter; local families tend to picnic here on weekends.
