The Ilocos Region (Region I) spans the northwestern coast of Luzon, bordered by the Cordillera mountains to the east and the West Philippine Sea. It encompasses four provinces: Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan. The region is widely recognized for the UNESCO World Heritage city of Vigan (Ilocos Sur), the surfing hub of San Juan (La Union), and the coastal windmills and beaches of Pagudpud (Ilocos Norte).
