Cordillera Administrative Region: The Mountain Provinces

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) covers the mountainous interior of northern Luzon, including Baguio City and the Banaue Rice Terraces.

The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) is the only landlocked region in the Philippines, encompassing the Cordillera Central mountain range in northern Luzon. It is defined by its high altitude, cooler climate, and indigenous cultural heritage. Baguio City is the regional centre and a major domestic tourism draw, while the upland provinces of Ifugao and Mountain Province are known for the UNESCO-listed rice terraces carved into the steep valleys.
