The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) is the only region in the Philippines with its own autonomous government. Formed in 2019, it includes the mainland provinces of Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao (now split into Maguindanao del Norte and del Sur), plus the island provinces of the Sulu Archipelago: Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
