Santa Lucia Asturias

Santa Lucia Parish serves Asturias, an upland town in Cebu’s midwest interior rather than a coastal one — most of the municipality sits in the hills toward Balamban, running on corn and vegetable farming rather than the fishing economies of the coastal towns that dominate most of the province’s tourist map. The Diocese of Cebu designated the church as one of its 2025 Jubilee Year parishes under the “Pilgrims of Hope” program, which makes plenary indulgences available to visitors completing the prescribed rites, alongside its ordinary role serving the town’s fiesta and sacramental calendar.
